It is with a heavy heart that  inform  the sad demise of our beloved Dr. Jacob O.   Mathew, older brother of Mr. Abraham O. Mathew (Kunjumon). He was called to eternity today, Friday, February 10, 2023, at approximately 5:30 pm (IST).

He was one of the founding members of our parish going back to 1976, and recently transferred his membership to a parish in Trivandrum, Kerala.  He is survived by his wife, Shanthamma, and daughters, Anitha & Susan.

The Vicar, Rev. Bijoy M. John and members of the Mar Thoma Church of Los Angeles (MTCLA) express their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, and to all his extended family members here in Southern California, at this time, for their loss.  While we’re sad he is no longer with us, we are relieved to know he is at peace and enjoying eternal rest with our LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Let us uphold the bereaved family in our prayers.  As scripture has taught us in John 11:25, “Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live.”  Our LORD is always with us, even in our hour of darkness.”
