The 2nd annual Malu Masters Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Shepherd’s Crook Golf Course in Zion, IL. Organized by Michael Nellamattam, 44 of the top Malayalee golfers from around the country competed in an 18-hole handicap-adjusted tournament at one of the most challenging golf courses in the Chicagoland area.  Several new side games were included in this year’s tournament, including longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin, for which those winners were awarded prizes. For the first time, 11 junior forecaddies (ages 12-17) were incorporated into the tournament to increase youth participation and allow early exposure to the game of golf.  The purpose of this tournament was to grow the love of the game of golf in the Malayalee community and to have another avenue for healthy competition amongst Malayalee golfers of all ages.
