A Despotic leader is the most dangerous and derailed person who is selfish, arrogant, mean spirited, crazy, cruel, carless, and cunning and must be dealt with. This is a person who wants absolute control on everything whether he or she is qualified enough to handle different issues. Regardless of the horrible consequences due to their wild and stupid decisions, this person will continue to talk and act like an expert on any serious matters.
A despotic leader is very harsh, angry, agitated and ignores all accepted practices or refuse to accept expert opinions of people around him. The correct way is not important to this person, the spirit of anger, revenge, hatred and humiliation of those who oppose this leader is his way of getting away with bad policies and destructive behaviors.
A despotic person will never learn from mistakes, will never admit their mistakes, always accuse others for their own foolish decisions that causes so much sufferings and damages and they will keep on lying about things and no one will be able to change this person and those who try will be ridiculed. These are dictators, who often uses brutal force, threats, and punishments, inflict fear and mercilessly rule the entire nation, organization or group through terror. They are so self-centered, manipulative and will not let anyone to correct their mistakes.
Abuse of power, blatant disregard of the laws, bullying others, lying constantly about things and make fun of any one to save their face. It is all about himself or herself. These kind of leaders will violate all basic rules, discriminate against those they don’t like, give preferential treatments to those who support them. When people cannot deal or debate with a despotic leader, no one will speak and the problem will continue. Fear of standing alone is why people tolerate this behavior. Someone said this very wise words. “Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented”. Powerful and meaningful words.
Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin are good examples of despotic leaders, Nebuchadnezzar in the Bible was a despotic leader. Hitler ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945 and caused the horrible holocaust, murdering around six million Jews and many others. Stalin ruled Soviet Union from 1929 to 1953 empowered forced labor camps for millions, massive manmade famine in Ukraine.
Nebuchadnezzar was a despotic ruler who destroyed Jerusalem, exiled the Jews and demanded the people to worship his own golden statue or suffer consequences. King Herod in the Bible ordered the execution of young children in Bethlehem to protect his throne. King Ahab and queen Jezebel and their own daughter Athaliah were all despotic rulers, promoted violence, idolatry, murdered prophets of God, killed own children for power. All their life ended so horrible due to the craziness and crimes they had committed.
In politics and religion, the people must recognize these leaders and take every action to remove them from power otherwise the nation, the organization will suffer so severely. They don’t care what happens to the people, the country or the organization, all they want is power and profit while the people are suffering.
Despotic leaders cause severe social, economic, political, religious harm, widespread corruption, allow cruel behaviors, violate constitutions and written laws, ignores all legal, moral, ethical values. It is all about them and not about the people. They will ban free press, silence or destroy good journalists, will not accept fair elections, cause so much fear and confusion and they seek absolute control of all the aspects of the government or organization.
No checks and balances, no free speech, no accountability, ignores the will of the people, careless about decency, truth, facts and cover up things that are dangerous, indecent and illegal. They will act loyal, nice, religious, caring etc., but deep inside they are full of poison that will eventually kill the Nation, organization and even themselves.
Pride will never win, arrogance and stupidity will never succeed, and despotism or dictatorship will ended up in failure. We have so many examples of very famous people in politics, religion and in our world who have destroyed others and Nations thru their despotic style leadership. They are so dangerous to society. We must recognize them, not applaud or admire them by not knowing the poison they are injecting into people.
“The chains of despotism once fastened upon a Nation, ages might pass away before they could be shaken off” words of William Henry Harrison. This is very true. So we must understand the danger and the long suffering.
We must have discerning spirit, ability to recognize the hidden dangers, understand the horrible consequences, be vigilant and know their true character and take all actions to remove them from power before it is too late.
What type of a leader is leading your Nation, Church or organization? How are things better or getting worse? Why are you so quiet and silent if things are getting from bad to worse? We must voice our opinion otherwise we will also be victims under these despotic rulers who do not care much about any one. Please know the hidden dangers and the destructive path these despotic leaders are leading. Yes, they are very dangerous.
